Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe Giveaway

Each year is such a joy when Nancy Turner holds her Twelve Days of Christmas giveaway for us stitchers from her Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe. She works so incredibly hard and it so sweet of her to be so thoughtful. I wish her a blessed Christmas and know that what comes around, goes around. ๐ŸŽ„

"A Bunny's Fill" by Shepherd's Bush

When my niece, Sarah, was younger, I stitched this and gave it to her for her birthday. She was our little bunny. Our little bunny turns 18 next month. I often wonder if this still hangs in her room. So much love went into this piece. I am beginning to feel a bit old...

"Sail Away" by Shepherd's Bush

This would be the other piece that reminds me so much of my Poppa. He had a panache for jotting down little poems on a whim. I could see him having written the poem stitched in this one, and the one stitched in "Finch Song," also by Shepherd's Bush.

"Finch Song" by Shepherd's Bush

This was my first piece that I stitched that reminded me of my Poppa. Between our summers working in his garden beds and spending our evenings sitting in their back yard...he in is Adirondack chair sipping on his Milwaukee's Best...listening to the cicadas on those Indian Summer eves...and me reading a book. His love for birds. How I miss him so...

"O Beautiful" by Shepherd's Bush

I simply loved the various stitches required with this piece, plus I just plain loved the American theme behind it.

"Soft Spring" by Shepherd's Bush

The next few postings are going to contain nothing but Shepherd's Bush pieces I have completed. I still have a few, as I stated in a previous post, that are sitting in my stash waiting to be completed. Plus, I have six stockings I stitched for my boys, and for my nieces and nephews. I'll post those another day. I love primitive samplers, but I still adore Shepherd Bush's delicate stitching and different embroidery techniques they require. I've learned quite a bit on my own. I stitched this piece twice. The first one I did was for my sister. She loves anything with sheep and lambs. I gave it to her for her birthday years ago. I guess you could say our sheep love runs in the family. The second is still waiting to be framed for myself.

"Happy Haunting" by Shepherd's Bush

I love fall...Halloween. This is yet another piece I finished about 9 or 10 years ago. It resides at my Mother's house for her fall decor. I just love the whimsical phrases she comes up with...

"Pumpkin Hill" by Shepherd's Bush

I adore the designs by Shepherd's Bush, They are so delicate and the stitching can on occasion be a challenge. I have numerous projects I have completed and many more to go. This was so fun to stitch.

"Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow" by Carriage House Samplings

"Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow" was my very first large project. It took me two years to stitch this, only because as usual I was stitching away on other pieces at the same time. I tend to give some of my stitched pieces to family or friends as gifts. So, my hands are never idle. I absolutely adore this piece. I really fell in love with it the after it was framed. I have a stash of other designs by Carriage House Samplings that I will one day get to...
